In 2006, two girls of 16 found an amazing book called 101 Things To Do Before You’re Old And Boring. The set out on an epic mission to finish all the things in the book before one of them moved 5,000 miles away.

Those girls were called dru and Lu. And they’re the reason you’re reading this blog today.

My name’s dru and I’m one half of the original foundry of this blog. Lu and I became friends on our school bus in 2006 and – despite the pond rather inconveniently placed in between us currently – remain dearest buddies to this day.

We started this blog in early 2007 as one of the tasks listed in the book. At the time I was an obsessive blogger on MySpace ( I tweet now =D ) and we quickly accumulated over 500 posts. After many blogger changes, several falling-outs and the creation of its own holidays, the blog has become rather like a remote coffee shop in one corner of the internet that anyone is free to pass through. Leave us your secrets, leave us your smiles, leave us your tears. We’ll surely leave you ours.

As time passed, and Lu and my friendship waned, the focus of the blog shifted from completing the tasks in the book to a more general report of our lives. Eventually things were patched up between Lu and myself and the blog was restored to its happy balance.

In an effort to include people and enhance the dynamic of the blog, it underwent some rather serious additions including two ex-boyfriends and four best friends, two changes of names and like five different layouts. The only thing that remains constant through out is Lu, myself, and our dedication to not losing touch.

In the latter half of 2009, Lu and I decided we wanted to start modifying the list of 101 Things to include some more grown-up tasks and exclude some less interesting ones. True to form, we’re taking our time perfecting the list, but it’ll rock when it’s finished.

Of the original 101 Things, we finished about half of them. We are indebted to the writers for giving us such a wonderful template to work from. We will continue to follow in their format as we complete our new 101 things and document the amazing results that having fun and being ridiculous with friends can have on a person.
