Krista’s Phontos

Hehe.  Dru inspired me.  So, I’m posting LOTS of photos from my phone.    It took me forever to fomat these.  My phone’s camera isn’t as good as Dru’s, so my pictures aren’t absolutely spectacular, but I like them enough.  Now, to know who some of these people are, you’re going to need to understand my family tree.

So, there are my parents, Jim and Linda.  Their kids are Kent, Kathy, Melanie, and me.  My parents are old and my siblings are all in their 30s with kids.  Kathy and Melanie are married, Kathy to Paul, Melanie to Jake.  Kent is divorced.  They all have one girl and three boys.  Kent’s kids are Kaitlyn, Mason, Zack, and Levi.  Kathy’s kids are John Austin, Houston, Allie, and Jesse.  Melanie’s kids are Carly, Mitchell, Stockton, and Hunter.  I’ve been collecting pics of them on my phone, but I don’t have a picture of Kent, Melanie, Paul, Jake, Stockton, or Jesse.  Sad sad story.  But I’ll get there.

Oh, I’m making most of them thumbnails because it’s not as big that way, and because that’s generally how small they are anyway.  They look better that way with the yucky resolution, lol.

I’m going alphabetical because that’s the way they appear when I go to add them.  Easiest way.

Afton and me when she spen the night at my house one time.    I love black and white.  We were wearing hats and taking lots of crazy pictures.  In this one we were hiding.

Afton and I took this picture and sent it to Dru when we stayed at Afton’s house.  It was supposed to be a sleepover for Afton, Dru, Britny and me, but then Dru and Britny couldn’t come!   So, we watched lots of Smallville and she taught me some dance moves.

Afton, sleeping in seminary about a year and a half ago.  Porter and I were the only other ones there besides the teacher, and we were laughing out heads off as we took this picture.  Oh, what I wouldn’t give to go back to that time.  That was the best.  Britny and Afton were my best friends, Porter and I were good friends, and the only people in my seminary class were the three of us.  The only thing I would change about that time would be Dru.  I’d definitly have to reconnect with her sooner and bring her into my tiny circle of best friends.

On our by week, Britny and I snagged Afton and we went to Mark’s Homecoming football game.  Man I had a crush on that kid for a long time.  I don’t anymore, but that was a fun day.  We didn’t watch the game as much as we probably should have, but oh well.  We had fun.  Plus I was throwing Britny and Afton together intentionally, trying to get them to like each other so I could have both best friends at once.  It worked, and Mark became my Homecoming date.  Woo!

My Daddy and me.  Everyone always tells me I look more like him than anyone else in the family.  Well cool, because he’s a cutie!  We have so much fun, my dad and me.

This is my niece Allie.  She’s cute, but she’s also a stinker.  LOUD child.

Aunt Judy!  Last year around May she and I went to this college fair thing in Cisco and we were trying on sunglasses.  I gave her these and told her they were popular and she should put them on.  This is her “I’m popular” pose.  Lol.  I’ve never had bonding time with my aunt before, so it was fun.

Woo!  Batman Bandaids.  I took these to camp last year.  I tried saving them but necessity won out and I was out of them by November.

Mmmmm Batman brownies.  Momma made these for me.  Right before the Dark Night premiere.

 For Better or For Worse.  Man, that comic is always in sync with me.  The daughter April was born the same day as me, to old parents, and has old siblings!   She has brown hair and we act very alike.  Her mom and my mom have the same birthdays, too.  Isn’t that weird?  Man I love that comic!

So out of the blue one day I decided I would wear my hair like this to school.  After I got compliments from tons of people, when I got home, my mom made an ugly face and stated that I should never wear my hair like this ever again.  Well.  *sniff*  I liked it.  That’s my letter jacket, by the way.

Briternanny!!!  This is Britny.  My best friend since the 6th grade, but more so since this year.  1/4 of the Sisterhood of the traveling CDs.  Has Dru told y’all about this sisterhood?  It’s Afton, Dru, Britny and me.  It’s a ton of fun.  If she hasn’t, then we should make a post about it and put all the playlists in it.  Right, Dru?

One of my nephews had a birthday part at Chuck E Cheeses.  Took me soooo many tickets to get those glasses.

Took this out the window on my way to Cisco with Dad one day.  Same day I went with Judy, I think.  It was my first time driving the whole time.

Hunter, my little blue-eyed cutie pie.  He’s into music.  If you play it anywhere near him, he freezes and has to find it so he can watch it.  Here I was teaching the 1-yr-old how to conduct.  And he could do it.

Taken after seminary one day.  I do that a lot.  Walk out of seminary, “OOOH!  Oh my gosh, I have to speed home so I can take a picture of the SKY, of the SUNRISE!  OH MY GOSH!”  Yeah.  All the time.

Porter and Chase made finger buddies in sunday school one day.  It was hilarious.  This was Porter’s.  He used a gum wrapper for the tie.

A brand-new 5 dollar bill, a 5-yr-old 5 dollar bill, and a 5 dollar bill from the 50s.  Incredible that I got all of these in change from the same cash register!  Golly it was amazing.  I still have the antique 5.  I’m keeping it.  Forever.  Along with my 2 dollar bill.

Two can play this game, Jacob.  I’m totally G!!!  Wut!  Took this at Jessica’s house one time after I stole Chris Diamond’s hat.  Lol.

Heh. Took this yesterday while waiting for Jacob’s mom to pick me up and take me to a first ward priest party.  Wearing a new shirt.   I looooove that shirt.  YES I was taking pictures of myself, overhead myspace pictures!  …I was bored.  And I happen to like this one.

This is My Werewolf.  Dru took this picture and then sent it to me.  He’s better looking without the hat and with his collar down.  But does he listen to me?  Nooooo.

Zis is John Austin.  He’s so much fun.  He’s the one I wrote “Someone Close to Me” about.  He is awesome.

We all went out to eat at El Matador one day and John Austin made this “masterpiece” of peas on a fork and begged me to take a picture of it.  Lol.  It was very entertaining.

This guy dressed up as the Joker at the midnight release of The Dark Knight.  That was so much fun.  It was my first time going to a midnight showing.  I went with Dru, Josh, and Kaitlyn.  There could’ve been other people there, but I don’t remember them.  I lent this guy my joker card from my airplane deck.

Kathyyyyy!!    She has a bad eye and we were playing around.  She put that thing over her eye like a monocle and it actually helped her see.  Bizarre.

 Leaping Laurels!  I took a picture of each girl jumping, printed them out, cut them out, then put them together like this and did stuff in the dark room.  OH MY GOSH it took forever, but it was worth it.  I need to scan the final product but my scanner isn’t working.   We are Dru, Alyssa, me, Jessica R., and Afton.  Woo!

I tried out for Bronco Idol this year, a talent competition at my school.  I sang “Love Story” by Talyor Swift.  When I auditioned, I was thinking I’d wear this to perform, because it looks sort of princess-ish.  However, I wasn’t chosen to perform.  This was my prom dress from last year.  I always said it was my Cinderella dress.

Mason.  Man this kid is growing!  He’s already had a girlfriend!  He beat me to his first kiss!  My 12-yr-old nephew had his first kiss before I did!  Isn’t that nuts?  I mean, I was 17 and all…

At Chistmas this year we came up with a new game for the grandkids: figure out who can play dead the longest.    Lol.  Kept them quiet for three hours.

So Dr. Rembecki is the amazing pediatric pulmonologist who saved my life two years ago.  His office is painted as if it were undersea.  It is so cool!  You get to be in different rooms when you go.  The dolphin room, the killer whale room, the octopus room, the fishies room, the turtle room….

This is my 18-yr-old cousin that died in January.  Her name was Sarah.

Porter climbing a light pole at church.  It was nighttime, so the light was on.  Therefore it was hard to get a picture.  It was in December.  We went to the Twilight premiere with Afton, Mckenna, Dru, Josh, and Britny, and when Edward said “Hold tight spider monkey,” and jumped out of the window and started climbing a tree, Porter said very loudly, “Who’s the spider monkey now?” to much laughter.  When he climbed the pole, right as he got to the top, I yelled, “Who’s the spider monkey now?” and he laughed so hard he slid down the pole and almost hurt himself.  LOL.

MASSIVE PHOTOPOST OF DOOM!

WOO! Hold onto your socks ( Especially if they’re baby pink and Beth gave them to you ) because I’m going to post the most massive photopost of all time, ever. And it’s all Dan’s fault. “You should take more pictures. No one ever really blogs anymore. First and foremost. I actually found this term in the back of one of my text books, and I too a picture of it for Jon to see. I want to say that it was either one of the Histories or possibly a Government book. No! It was World History because I had to ask Coach if I could take a pic of it. The term was indeed Star Wars, but it was about Nuclear missiles or something. But it was Star Wars, that’s why I took it.

This is a mushroom Dad found in our yard. He checked it out and it was definitely a mushroom. It was really yummy too. Mom’s holding it.

Chase once tried to steal this gargoyle. Not really steal…but he did transport him a long way down the drive-way. This is one of the only gargoyles I actually like. ^^

From the “Orange Citrus Fruit” Collection. You saw piece one from my co-worker, Krista, yesterday night. Her’s was “Orange-on-Cup” mine is “Grapefruit-on-Grapefruit-on-Grapefruit-on-Basket-on-Island” Why are they called grapefruit? They don’t look like grapes, and they’re not small.

Well, when I was little I used to love to use the Handicap Bathroom Stall ( it was a quite official name, actually ) for no real reason. I’ve often noticed other kids like to do that, too. I just wanted you all to look back fondly on a time in your life when you may have been sweet and innocent like that. So…yeah. Reflection over.

I think the conversation was something like “I’m going to take like a zillion pictures and put them all up on the blog. Then you won’t be able to complain ANYMORE.”

Twilighters Gone Mad

Okay.  I read the book, loved the book, about three years ago.  Read the next three books, loved them eventually, became completely obssessed with the story.  It was all I read.  I admit it.  I’m crazy over Twilight.  I love love the story.  The movie was good, though not quite how I pictured it.  It was a Twilight movie, not Twilight, if you know what I mean.  I love Stephenie Meyer, I think she’s a talented author.  I don’t think her writing style is for children.  I read The Host, and I absolutely loved it, even though there were some parts of it where I was thinking, “Really?  Really, Stephenie?  Is this necessary?”  I ADMIT I’M A DIE-HARD TWILIGHT FAN.

But this is getting out of hand.

You can’t turn the pages in Facebook flair without having at least one TEAM EDWARD or REAL MEN DON’T SPARKLE or STUPID LAMB sticker.  Or, something to that effect.  There are countless ones.  Twilight is bigger than Hannah Montanna, High School Musical, and Narnia combined.  No joke.

It’s so big they’ve published three books about Rob Pattinson’s acting career in the past two months.  I know.  I was in Hastings yesterday.

Catherine Hardwicke published Twilight: The Director’s Handbook.

Twilight: The Movie Companion was published.

Twilight: The Series Companion was published.

They sell jackets that have the word Twilight emblazoned on them for $50.

They have jackets, key chains, t-shirts, posters, calendars, books upon books, pre-orders of EVERYTHING, the Cullen family crest, Rosalie’s necklace, Edward’s pin, Emmett’s wristband, yellow contacts, fansites galor, and the list goes on and on.

OH and collector’s editions of all four books are coming.  Twilight is already here.

They have two movie soundtracks: The Orchestral Music and the Rock Music.  And now they’re going to have a third, which is the “Special Edition”.  Has 30 minutes worth of interviews, and five extra songs, four of which are merely remixes or aucustic versions.

Stephenie Meyer’s website is one of the most-viewed ever.

 

DOES ANYONE ELSE SEE A PROBLEM?

 

Yeah, they had all this for Harry Potter.  But that was a little better, because it didn’t happen over-night.  She had 7 books to get people excited, and something like 12 years.  Meyer had 4.  HOLY COW, people!

 

I’m just utterly amazed at how obssessive people are.  I mean, I know I’m generally an obssessive person, but all of this?  This is just crazy.  Although I admit a lot of it thoroughly excites me and I wish I had the money to buy some of it, but this is utterly nuts!  Twilight has gone overboard.  It makes me not want to be a fan, if that makes any sense.  It’s very sad, too, because I absolutely love the story.  It’s just SO CRAZY.

And all of this comes from the girl who owns a Bella & Edward t-shirt, all four books hard-bound, the rock soundtrack, and two key chains.  Sigh.  (Although to be fair, the key chains, soundtrack, and two of the books were given to me as Christmas presents.)

But… does anyone else agree?
